Amite Christian School offers a quality Christian education in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The primary objective and purpose of Amite Christian School is to give Christian training along with an excellent education. The teachers at Amite Christian School realize the solemn responsibility before God in molding the life and character of each of their students to give a good foundation for each child's future. It is our policy to keep our child/teacher ratio low. Each student has close, personal contact with well-qualified teachers who are prepared to give each student a thorough scholastic background. Our well qualified staff demonstrates a caring concern for each child under their care.
We have classes available for the following ages/grades:
Preschool (ages 2 - 4 year olds)
Kindergarten

Fifth Grade Starting 2009-2010
SCHOOL HOURS
Preschool: 8:30 am - 11:45 am
Kindergarten: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
1st - 3rd Grades: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
TODDLERS 12 months to 18 months use "Hi Reach" Curriculum"
PRESCHOOL ages 2 through 4 years old use the A Beka curriculum. With the A Beka Curriculum the children will develop character through traditional teaching methods and Biblical disciplines as well as receive a solid academic foundation.
KINDERGARTEN THROUGH THIRD GRADE use the A Beka Curriculum. We reinforce the A Beka Reading Curriculum by using extra "Reading Comprehension" materials. Beginning in First Grade we reinforce the A Beka English Curriculum with the "Shurley Method / English Made Easy". Our "Kids" love English made easy with the "Shurley Method"!
Many curriculums are trying to return to the basic while the A Beka curriculum never left the basics. A Beka has been around since 1954 and has been watching children have FUN learning the BASICS - reading, writing, and arithmetic - and so much more! The children also develop good habits and social skills through daily experience in the classroom.
